2025 Geoffrey Deckers Award nominations now open
Award honours groups working to end animal testing, in memory of dedicated animal protection campaigner
Nominations are now open for the Geoffrey Deckers Award 2025, a prize awarded by Cruelty Free Europe to honour small and medium-sized groups or coalitions working in Europe to end animal experiments.
The winner will receive 6,000 euros to fund a campaign, training programme or outreach work that focuses on animal testing.
The Award honours the much respected and loved former Chair of the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments and Cruelty Free Europe, who passed away in June 2020. It is our way of honouring and continuing Geoffrey’s spirit for outreach and partnership.
Interested groups can read more information and download a short application form from our website. Alternatively, please email info@crueltyfreeeurope.org. The closing date for applications is Saturday 30 November.
The 2025 award winner will be announced on Geoffrey’s birthday, 13 January 2025.
Cruelty Free Europe’s CEO, Michelle Thew, said: “A strong commitment to partnership shone through in Geoffrey. Extending hands across the globe, he naturally connected with groups worldwide and was always there to support and encourage anyone who wanted to make a difference for animals. Now, the award created in his name hopes to recognise groups with the same passion, determination and vision that Geoffrey always showed. We are excited to read about the work that groups across Europe are doing, and the projects which fight to save animals from suffering and death.”
